Yeni Kend. The canal. Forum members on an outing, or on both sides of the water.

Well, the day finally came when I managed to get out on a joint trip with the nature.az forum members. Having arranged it in advance with Azer, aka Ixtiandr, we met on Sunday morning and set off spearfishing. In Yasamal we picked up three anglers: Vugar Aristokrat, his son Kamal and his friend Viktor. We all only knew each other from the forum, and on the way our acquaintance got a lot broader. We drove to Yeni Kənd, which some people call Canal 107, it's a bit past Alat, then a couple of kilometers down a dirt road towards the sea. According to Azer, who was there last year, the water had risen. After getting ready for a bit, the spearfishers (me, Vadim, and Azer, Ixtiandr) went into the water, and the anglers (Vugar Aristokrat, Viktor and Kamal) crossed over to the other bank. Underwater visibility was around 1.5-2 meters, but the further from the bridge and the clearer of weed, the murkier it got. By the way, it'd be a good idea to poke around under the weed there with a flashlight. The spots look promising, but I think the water was very warm, so there were no fish. The whole time I was swimming I saw something bigger than a palm go into the weed, and then something else about that size, most likely a baby pike, shoot out of the weed. No point shooting))) We swam for a couple of hours and didn't shoot a thing, I never fired a single shot from my new pneumatic gun !!!!!!!! Azer didn't fire a single shot either!!! On the other side of the water it was the same story, the anglers didn't catch a single fish!!! Even though the fishing and hunting didn't really work out, meeting the forum members more than made up for the failures. It was really nice to meet like-minded people!!!
PS I'll definitely go back there spearfishing in mid-September, very good spots, they remind me of the Zaganin collectors !!!!!!
