Moscow, Dmitrovo settlement

So I went on a business trip. Since I had a whole day ahead before work started, I thought I'd go around the fishing spots of Moscow. Over there it's practically a mass pastime, because anglers with a whole set of rods and gear on their backs scurry back and forth along the streets and in the metro. By the way, there are fishing shops like our Shadlyg Evi almost at every step :).

First I went down to the so-called Nagatino backwater at Avtozavodskaya. It's a dam pool on the Moskva River that was built for the needs of ZIL. It's very polluted and is used by the car plant for some technical purposes. The fish there are small, finger-sized, and as the local anglers said, they don't even eat them because of the heavy metals and other junk harmful to people that builds up in them, they fish just to satisfy the fishing itch. It didn't seem much fun to me there, since the pond is terribly polluted, so I went to Dmitrovsky Pond as the locals advised, and I had business there anyway. The pond is in a park and the water there is relatively clean, people walk around drinking beer, picnics everywhere and anglers all around the lake. There were even some ladies with a whole battery of rods laid out on the bank. What was biting was mostly small bleak, crucian carp and palm-sized perch. But because it's not hot there and the pond is in a park, you can have a great time relaxing with a float. Sadly we don't have places like that in our city. Maybe the Boulevard, and even there you're better off not going. And the worst part is it's very hot here and there are no cooler spots near forest and trees. By the way, the variety of goods in the fishing shops was simply shocking, from earthworms to all sorts of fancy groundbaits and boilies.. in almost every shop. There's gear for spearfishers in many outdoor and sports hypermarkets.

Chinese nets and electrofishing rods are banned everywhere. Nets are sold only to those who have a fish farm or hold a licence of the established form. Spearfishing is also banned during spawning. If only we had rules like that.
