Sazhevaya or ZGO

Well, like all of us freelance staff of the forum, I have to follow my "official duties" and write a report. So, like any ordinary day, I took the kids to kindergarten. As a victim of the global financial crisis and a temporarily unemployed person, I didn't pass up the great weather and decided to go to Sazhevaya. Bought some shrimp and off I went. Not without an adventure. When I got there I see a tractor working on the road to the dam, packing down the soil. Decided to wait a bit until the tractor finished its work. One of the workers said I could drive along another road below and come back up onto the dirt road. I listened to him and turned off the main road. Drove a little and, making a mistake, sank the front end into soft muddy ground. A few more desperate revs to get out of this mud didn't pay off and my front end sat completely in the mud. After being stuck for about an hour looking for a tow rope or something like it to tie on and ask the tractor driver to tow me out, nothing worked out. Finally one KAMAZ truck had a rope and they pulled me out. The whole time I was cursing myself, like, idiot, you could be sitting at home right now and the car would've stayed clean (especially since we only washed it yesterday), where did you drag yourself to and what do you need all this for. Anyway, I'd already arrived. Decided to try unpacking the gear and casting despite the ruined mood. Sat for a bit, smoked one cigarette and then whoa!!! The bite indicator jerked like a bullet. Quickly got up and I'm reeling in. Got it!!! Right at the shore I see I can't pull it out anymore. It's coming in really heavy. And there they are!!! Two huge kutum on the hooks at once. Barely dragged them onto the shore. Then after the next cast another bite. Then one more kutum. Today until noon the fish were biting like crazy. After two o'clock the gobies attacked. I got tired of casting the heavy spinning rod and pulling out gobies. Tired as a dog, especially with no lunch out on the wasteland of Sazhevaya. Decided that was enough for today. We're not poachers to catch all the fish in one go.

I'll say one thing, for spearfishers today the weather and underwater visibility were excellent. The water is emerald clear and big mullet under the rocks.
