Baku and surroundings

Hi everyone. I see folks are slowly trying to open the season. Congrats on the first catch to all of you who've already opened it!

I was at Canal 91 with friends in mid-March. There were roach. But canal roach are really bony. Kind of scrawny. Not like the ones we caught at sea last summer. At least those were decent.

After that trip we tried at Mayak, Şıxov and other spots. I sent scouts all over the area. Everywhere the news was discouraging. Nothing so far. I've come to the conclusion that we need to hold out just a little longer. The fish haven't quite come up to the shore yet. A bit offshore they're turning up in nets from boats. But it's still a bit early for the hook.
