The northern power station near the lighthouse. A newbie's take.

Decided to go diving at the northern one after all. Dove on September 26 and October 3, so I'll report on both days. As the old hands explained, it's better to go there with a southerly wind. On the first day I decided to swim out to the reef ridge that's about 80 meters out in the sea. Got to the ridge, on the first ridges the visibility was excellent, and on the outermost ridge visibility was around a meter and a half. After Tereshkin I reckon that's visibility you can hunt in!!! I took my crossbow with me, which I regretted on the ridge — in visibility like that it's really hard to hunt with one. Had to kind of shoot from under myself, it was really choppy, anyway I got one (we weighed it and it came out at 760 g on electronic scales, although lots of people said it was no less than 1 kg) ) and decided to head back, figured that was enough for a first scouting trip. This Saturday, or more precisely October 3, I went to the northern one again, the water was terribly murky, on the ridges visibility was no more than 40-50 cm, a nightmare. Coming out of the water I saw a couple of guys who started asking about the visibility, I told them how it was. The guys turned out to be "colleagues", one was called Igor and the other Mikhail. They decided to go in anyway, and Igor got a decent mullet of nearly a kilo. I learned a lot of interesting stuff from them about the northern one, they showed me Bird Island, showed me the kultuk — the spots are just awesome, look at the photos. When I asked why it's murky with a southerly they said the water has already cooled and the murk settles slowly, you need the southerly to blow for a couple of days. But they also explained that at the kultuk visibility is usually better, at the lighthouse a bit worse, and at Bird Island worse still. All in all I liked the northern one, found myself an alternative to ZGO (the pig farm)
