A failed hunt at ZGO )))

The whole week was way too dull and monotonous, the only thing keeping me going was the thought of spearfishing at the weekend. I was planning to go on Saturday, the weather was good on every count, but unfortunately man proposes and someone up there disposes, so anyway Saturday didn't happen((( Just like our beloved gismeteo.ru said, rain in the evening, and so it was (((( Anyway I'm sitting there on edge, decided this won't do and on Sunday decided to just take off to ZGO. Despite the rain and strong wind I still, as my dad puts it, "dragged myself out there" ))) Got to the pig farm, looked for spearfishers, turned out there was nobody ((( Quickly pulled on the wetsuit and dived in, and the water, oops, totally murky, dirty, can't see anything past the tip of the spear, and I really wanted to explore the clear water on the right side of the pig farm ((( Realised things were bad, decided to swim to the reeds, since my dad's and my wife's words were ringing in my ears, like "nothing better to do", decided I wasn't getting out without fish. Swam to the reeds and the situation there was no better, nothing to do with a speargun in water like that, too long. Feathers, silt and all sorts of junk floating around in abundance((( Anyway whoever's up there clearly took pity, the sun came out, I could make out at least something, the mullet were small, shooting was really hard, at least for me, being used to good underwater visibility. Shooting at shadows got me a few mullet of 300-400 grams each and, as they say, in conditions like these even a goby counts as fish ))) Plans for the weekend were huge but it turned out as usual. The folks at home comforted me that next weekend I could go to Pirsaat, but as the oracle gismeteo.ru showed, I'm not going to be at Pirsaat, north wind. Anyway I went to the Eighth Bazaar, cast my spinning rod with 10 manats and caught a smoked catfish, and in the evening sorted it out with some beer, at least here there's fish !!! Anyway folks, don't lose heart, there's always an alternative )))
