On Monday I headed out to zgo.It's a bit far, but I decided to do my first hunt in a 100% spot (i.e. zgo), so there'd be no letdowns.After a 4-kilometer forced march in the heat, at 12.20 I swam out to the ridge.My swimming speed was 2 times faster, thanks to a new gadget.Got there, wind from the south, weak, but murky (visibility 2-3m).No fish in sight, a couple of times I saw mullet swimming off (they spotted me first - murky water), I took a shot at one and right then a surprise - the wishbone popped out of the band.Well, I sat on a rock and got to repairing, in 10 minutes everything was ready(thanks to my helper - the buoy).And then I notice a part of my new gadget is missing. Searching got me nowhere.Too bad, I'd only just made it.Swam on.There he is, a beauty, swimming in from the right to cut across, showed me his side and...the spear went in under the dorsal fin, and the tow started doing its job, all I could do was keep kicking my fins.Caught up, grabbed it and strung it on.That's my consolation prize for the loss.And that was the end of the show.No fish. There was mullet around 300-400 grams, but I didn't feel like shooting it, there's not much fish. Had lunch in the middle of the sea on a rock (again thanks to my helper), admired the sea view and back to work. All in all, 3-4km of swimming, result - saw fish 3 times, shot one once. I've never had it like that at zgo.Had to crawl out of the sea earlier than I'd planned.Right in the worst heat.And the 800-gram (weighed it at home) consolation still kept trying to swim away. Tired as a dog, but at least I've calmed down --The season has begun!
