Underwater shooting tournament

Good day!!! At last some kind of event during this long winter, or autumn, whatever it is (the weather doesn't look wintry at all)…

The Azerbaijan Underwater Shooting Championship announced for 10 February had to be cancelled for certain valid reasons…. But still, I think deciding to get together and hold a mini-tournament was the right call: events like this bring people together, let like-minded folks chat, test their gear, sight in their guns…

The tournament itself consisted of the following exercise: from the start line (in the deep part of the pool), after the chief judge's start signal, the participant swims 14 m underwater and from the firing line takes a shot at a 9x12 target with two zones, then, retrieving the spear, returns to the start line, loads the gun and dives for the second shot. The whole exercise consisted of three attempts with a time limit of 4 minutes.
By the way, there were also some "heroes" (I won't point fingers) who wanted to shoot at the targets without the spear being tied to the gun with a line…

The tournament, I must say, went off in a friendly atmosphere. After shooting to their heart's content, many drew conclusions about their physical condition and their gear. All participants met the set standard. The top three were awarded cups and prizes. I'd also like to point out that among the participants was a young spearfisher, Jafarov Telman (15 years old), who, despite his young age, beat many adult athletes.I'd like to express my thanks to the tournament's chief judge, Larin Viktor. If there are people in Azerbaijan who truly care about underwater sports, he's first among them!
The winners were:

1st place – Savinkin Telman (275 points, 3.48 min.)

2nd place – Zhiltsov Vitaliy (175 points, 2.47 min.)

3rd place – Novotorzhin Vladislav (150 points, 2.51 min.)
