Mangrove, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

Hi everyone. So, while staying in the Emirates, I decided to go fishing, since you can't do any spearfishing here within Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, and for that you have to drag yourself to the back of beyond... not having a licence here, I decided to make do with occasional fishing trips to the suburbs - playing at being a spinning angler. By the way, the fish here aren't all that big either, but every now and then you get big barracudas - going by the stories of the regulars of the local waters (mostly Filipinos). You'll very rarely see an Arab with a rod in his hands, since they mostly head out by boat far away from civilisation... out there in the deep the fish are probably bigger too, I haven't fished there myself so I wouldn't know... Well, my catch was nothing special, I only snapped one fish - the one that was more or less bigger than the rest of my catch - and a couple or three "blue" crabs. The catch was later given away to the local Indian kids. I fished mostly with shrimp. The bite here is very lively, you've barely cast before the nibbling starts. Just keep striking - mostly small fry.
