Happy New Year Everyone!!!
The days before the holiday were clear and
sunny. On the 31st I called Denis (our champion). The weather outside was
absolutely gorgeous, but we knew that if we went hunting on this
holiday our wives would never forgive us, so we decided
to wet our almost dried-out gills in the new year, right after the holidays.
We thought about heading out to Tyorkha around the 2nd, but given the light northerly
breeze, and the lack of spare time, we decided to go to Artyom instead.
Got to the spot. The sea was choppy, the water by the shore felt a bit murky, but
we still decided to dive, hoping to find visibility further out from the shore.
Put on our suits, Denis a 7 mm, me a 5 mm, and went into the water. We felt the cold
of the water the moment it touched our hands and faces. As Denis said
later, his computer showed a temperature of 6 degrees. After swimming around for about 30 minutes
we made sure there was no visibility at all (half a speargun's length) and came out
onto the shore. Surprisingly, in that cold my old 5 mm suit (OMER
Black Master) held up really well, only my hands got pretty
cold because my gloves were summer ones. Took a couple of photos for the record, even without a catch.
