Girdimanchay-Kura, Sherbet-kuba, 91 km canal

The goal of the trip was catfish fishing, but after arriving at the spot where the Girdimanchay river flows into the Kura and casting our tackle, after a while it became clear that we'd probably come here for nothing. A local fisherman told us it's still too early and that fish still don't often end up in the nets and fyke nets the locals constantly set. Anyway, for various reasons this new place didn't seem promising to us and we decided to relocate to Sherbet-kuba.

At Sherbetka there were very few people and since the weather let us down a bit, only crucian carp were biting and even that poorly. Not a whiff of catfish, pike or carp at all. Neither spoons nor live bait attracted the predators and our bottom rigs stood untouched all night. Other fishermen tried fishing with bottom rigs and trotlines, but all of us together were catching weeds by the ton. Apparently at this time of year at Sherbetka the weeds and benthos are coming up and maybe that's why the fish bite badly.

The next morning we decided to try our fishing luck at the 91st canal and a couple of hours later we were already catching vobla there, just to console ourselves somehow. We also got a few little carp the size of a palm, and sad, by evening we headed home, back to our nests...
