The abnormal heat observed in Azerbaijan may return in August

No severe heat is expected in Azerbaijan in the first days of August. This was stated by Umayra Taghiyeva, deputy director of the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. According to her, during this period temperatures will be within 32-34 degrees, which is the norm. At the same time, overall the average monthly temperature in August will be 2-3 degrees above normal. Taghiyeva noted that hot days are also expected in August, and the heat observed recently may return. On such days the air temperature in Baku and on Absheron may rise to 40 degrees. In the lowland regions and the Nakhchivan AR, heat of 42-43 degrees is forecast.
