Monitoring to prevent “bird flu” has begun in Azerbaijan

This was reported by Yolchu Khanveli, press secretary of the State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan.
According to him, the monitoring is being carried out on the Absheron Peninsula, in the Davachi and Salyan districts, in the Gizilagach Reserve of the Lankaran district, etc.
“Specialists from the veterinary service, the Ministry of Ecology, the Ministry of Health and the Hunters' Society of the republic have been involved in the monitoring,” Y. Khanveli noted.
He stressed that during the monitoring blood samples are being collected from wild and domestic birds for laboratory testing.
He stressed that the results of the monitoring will be made public on May 23.
