Fingerprints to be included in Azerbaijan's new international passports

After 2011-2012, citizens of Azerbaijan will not be able to enter European countries and the USA with old passports.
As the Visa and Registration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan told 1news.az, by 2011 the country's citizens will be provided with a new generation of passports containing biometric data, since many countries are now switching to these standards.
In accordance with the presidential order on creating a national biometric identification system, Azerbaijan is also starting to issue a new generation of passports.
It was noted that, in line with international standards, the new-type passports will contain fingerprints and biometric data on the structure of a person's face.
