Environmental monitoring in the occupied territories

[INTRO]The OSCE and the UN want to carry out joint environmental monitoring in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan[/INTRO]

"There are serious problems in the conflict territory of Azerbaijan, but they are difficult to solve in the current situation."
This was stated by David Swalley, environmental expert of the OSCE Secretariat.
According to him, the OSCE together with the UN, within the framework of the ENVEC project, wants to assess the environmental situation in these territories, but this requires permission from the governments of both countries - Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Touching on the issue of environmental damage caused by the Gabala radar station, Swalley noted that this issue requires more active study.
He also advised not to politicize environmental problems, but to pay more attention to them and solve them.
