Earthquake in western Azerbaijan: no casualties or damage

On the morning of 29.04.2008, at 10:20, an earthquake occurred in the Daşkəsən district.

According to the Center of Seismological Service of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), a tremor of magnitude 2,5 points on the 12-point Richter scale was recorded.

Residents of the district felt the tremor, but there were no casualties or damage as a result of the earthquake. As deputy head of the Daşkəsən District Executive Authority Javanshir Gojayev reported, no damage was done to buildings in the region.
Daşkəsən is located 390 km west of Baku.
