A landslide may occur in Azerbaijan

In the village of Gulluchapa in Masalli District there is a danger of a landslide. There are 11 houses located in the landslide zone. Two hectares of this area are considered an active landslide zone.
On April 17, four of the families living in these houses were moved to a safe zone. A decision has been made to relocate seven more of the remaining families.
There are 23 houses located in the potential landslide zone.
A few days ago, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources visited the village of Gulluchapa and inspected the landslide area. Soil samples were taken to identify the causes of the landslide, which will be determined at the end of May.
Villagers said that last year the weather in the village was dry, and in winter there was a frost of 20 degrees. They attribute the landslide precisely to this. The residents also noted that a riverbed runs underground at a depth of 150 m, and this could also be a cause of the landslide.
The village, with a total area of 554 hectares, is located 18 km from Masalli.
The population of Gulluchapa is 2,400 people.
