A document on combating noise in Baku will be adopted

A regulatory legal document on combating noise pollution and vibration in Baku, which have a harmful effect on the human body and the environment, is expected to be adopted soon. In this connection, the Cabinet of Ministers, guided by an order of the head of state, has already sent the relevant proposals to the Presidential Administration.
Commenting on the issue, the chairman of the parliamentary commission on social policy, Hady Rajabli, noted that this concerns first of all industrial (technical) noise, and only then household noise.
According to him, there are standards defining the maximum permissible level of noise produced, for example, by industrial enterprises, construction sites and wedding halls, as well as requirements for sound-absorbing means.
"We often encounter things like night work at construction sites, loud music blaring from wedding halls, not to mention the noise and vibration produced by transport. All this has long since become a serious problem and has a negative effect on people's health. Therefore the standards must be observed, and the president's order is intended to revise these standards anew", - said H.Rajabli.
As for wedding halls in particular, which many people complain about because of excessively loud music, the chairman of the parliamentary commission believes that before they are put into operation, specialists should check their acoustics and sound-absorption capacity and, on that basis, issue them the appropriate license. According to him, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism could take this on.
