65 tonnes of sturgeon caught in Azerbaijan in 2008

In accordance with the rules for the use of aquatic biological resources approved by Decision No. 119 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan of 23 June 2005, a total fishing quota of 3700 tonnes was issued to 71 legal entities and individuals for 2008.
Despite the quota level, 1517 tonnes of fish were caught over the year, including 65 tonnes of sturgeon, 50 tonnes of kutum, 76 tonnes of carp and 1020 tonnes of kilka. The rest of the catch was made up of mullet, crucian carp, bream, etc.
It should be noted that the sturgeon fishing quota for the Caspian states for 2008 was set at 1 thousand 61.02 tonnes, which is 1% less than in 2007. The quota for Azerbaijan was 90 tonnes, Kazakhstan - 182.5 tonnes, Iran - 440 tonnes, Russia - 286.5 tonnes, Turkmenistan - 62 tonnes.
