5th Anniversary "Caspian Cup" Spearfishing Tournament

Regulations
Goals and objectives

The competition is held by the “Caspian Hunters” club to identify the strongest spearfishers in the Individual and Team standings, to popularize spearfishing and to share experience.

Open Championship of Azerbaijani clubs, Individual-Team competition

Participants Athletes from any spearfishing association in Azerbaijan are admitted to the competition in the Individual and Team standings.

Competition terms

Deadline for submitting applications to the credentials committee is 20.09.2013Team size: 3 people.

The competition is held on September 28-29, 2013 in accordance with the Rules of Amateur and Sport Fishing of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the CMAS Rules - 2 days of 5 hours of spearfishing each
The winner is determined by the total points over the two days of competition.
Minimum qualifying weight: mullet 500 g, kutum 500 g, carp and barbel from 1000 g, everything else from 500 g.
The following coefficient is used to calculate athletes' points: 1 g of weight - 1 point for mullet, kutum, barbel
0.5 points for each gram of weight for carp.

Waters:

Absheron, Tereshkova Island area

Pirallahi peninsula, the area called Kozhemyakino (shore diving)

Alat, Pirsaat ridges area

Depths up to 15 m.

Fish: mullet, kutum, carp, asp, barbel, perch, buffalo.

Fish prohibited from catching: all sturgeon species, salmon.

Teams and participants arrive at the competition with their own gear. The waters are closed to hunting 1 day before the start of the competition.

TO BE ADMITTED TO THE COMPETITION, ATHLETES MUST HAVE:

1. A passport or ID card.
2. A named application and a medical card (or a health certificate from a clinic)
all participants sign a DECLARATION-REPORT stating that they agree with the Terms of the competition and accept personal responsibility for the risk.

START and FINISH - the location of the Judging Panel

The results of athletes who do not check in with the judges at the Start or the Finish

ARE ANNULLED

After the control time at the finish expires
-the athlete is penalized - 15 minutes late -100 points
- if more than 30 minutes late, the catch is ANNULLED, and the participant is given PENALTY points for the entire time of lateness.
-Penalty points count toward the result of the athlete and their team.

SAFETY MEASURES

Safety cover in the competition waters:
in pairs (buddy system), by a representative from shore, or by judges from boats.
Each participant must have:
-A quick-release weight belt,
-a brightly colored signal buoy with buoyancy of at least 8 kg,
-the buoy must have space for the start number to be put on it,
-a dive knife,
-a buoy line with a breaking strength of at least 20 kgfAn additional Verbal Briefing is held before the start.
During the competition athletes are PROHIBITED from using any vehicles. Only boats and motorboats of the judging panel and the rescue service may be present in the competition waters.
For violating the provisions of these regulations, an athlete is removed from the competition.

Additional information.

The COMPETITION is held with an entry fee of 25 manat for the two days of competition.
The costs of participating in the competition are borne by the sending organizations or by the athletes themselves. The organizer of the competition does NOT PROVIDE transport to the competition venue (except for transport directly from the base to the start area), meals or accommodation.
Clubs taking part in the competition provide their athletes with boats. Each club must also provide the judging committee with one assistant on the water and one assistant judge on the line.
Travel to the competition venue is by personal transport

Attention, important information.

Consumption of alcoholic beverages by participants is strictly PROHIBITED!!! On both days athletes will be tested for alcohol.
Clubs providing boats for their athletes must submit the boats' registration documents in advance in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Applications will be accepted strictly within the specified time; applications submitted after the specified time will not be considered.

10 30 Line-up. Verbal briefing.
11 00 Boats head out to the start area
12 00 Start
17 00 Finish
17 30 Line-up and roll call of all participants.
18 00 Boats return to the base.
20 00 Official weigh-in and summing up of the day's results.This year the “Caspian Hunters” club celebrates its 5th anniversary. A special program is planned on Saturday evening for everyone who comes. Also this year our friends, athletes from clubs in other countries, will come to take part in the competition.
