Shirvan canal

Well then... Here we are at the Shirvan canal again...
Four of us and my trusty Opel... The forecast promised good weather - but you shouldn't trust it 100%... Instead of the promised 2 m/s wind, it was blowing at maybe 8-10 m/s. And it kept changing direction. Which apparently affected the bite. The fish bit poorly... On the same old worm.
We'd also stocked up on a jar of fresh shrimp - just out of sporting interest, to check whether there were any carp or kutum in the canal. But the shrimp went unclaimed... Nobody fancied them... Well, actually somebody did, but only in the evening, after the fishing and a safe landing back home, and this fan only likes them boiled and only with a good supply of beer... I'll let you in on a secret - that fan is ME! :) Just rambling... Sorry... I know, the rotten tomatoes are about to fly my way... Couldn't help myself... Sinanju, greetings from Tambov!!! :)... Anyway, that day we did a forced march along the canal - a recon run, so to speak: went up 15 km to the bridge, then back down the other side of the canal - looking for a decent spot to set up... What got me down was that all the good spots are taken by "netters", who haven't left a single "living spot" on the canal, they've spread their "spider" nets so that there's nowhere to sit... Bad... Where are the authorities looking??? Or is it in their interest??? I don't know... Depressing... In the end we went back to our own spot, which turned out to be the best one. Lost 2.5 hours... The result - 35 km of driving over brutal off-road, and about 60 roach among the four of us... But of course there were some nice moments too - yours truly whipped up some kebab, which was a HUGE hit, everyone got a charge of energy, their dose of fresh air, a oneness with nature, and I wish you the same... Sorry there are no photos - the pics stayed on my friend's phone... Except one, which I had to take...
