HOORAY !!!!! My dream came true
! I finally made it to the Sangachal trestle, and a huge thanks for that goes to Rustam76. We got there by 4 in the afternoon. On the way Rustam shared his
cherished dream with me – to catch a carp here. In
anticipation of something extraordinary and a great bite, I enthusiastically
started casting the tackle Rustam had kindly lent me, since mine
still needed to be rigged. That's when, for the first time in 15 years, I used a centrepin reel. My first failed experience with that contraption was about 15 years ago, and after
a massive bird's nest, frayed nerves and a huge bruise on my finger I flatly
gave them up and switched to spinning reels. But thanks to professional
instruction from Rustam I quickly learned to use it without any
headache. But while I was casting
them and started rigging my own tackle, Rustam had already managed to pull out a beauty of a kutum, 1.5
kg. Unfortunately, that was our only kutum. Even our hopes for the early morning bite
didn't pan out. But other surprises were waiting for us. First of all, Rustam's dream
came true and we caught about 6-7 small carp. Another dream of Rustam's came true too, one
he'd let slip by accident. True, it didn't come true quite the way he
wanted. On his last fishing trip gobies had nibbled away a lot of bait, and he dreamed
that some creature would turn up in the sea that would chase off or eat those damn
gobies. Well, that dream came true as well. CATFISH showed up in the sea. How many little catfish we
caught — I just can't count. It felt like we weren't fishing the sea but somewhere
on a canal or on the Kura. They're worse than gobies. So a request to Rustam:
be more careful with your dreams, because sometimes they come true. Result of the trip:
lots of little catfish caught and released, 6-7
small carp, one beauty of a kutum and a sea of impressions. On the spot we somehow
forgot to take pictures of everything. But since I took home the kutum and one carp, I'm posting the photos of them I took
at home here.
