Gosha Damba

Today I looked out the window in the morning, or rather after noon, saw the sun and decided to go for a swim, maybe something'll turn up! No sooner said than done! Left at 14:30. First I headed toward Svinarka, tried to get through to the pipe by the pumping station... Turns out they've blocked the road off with a fence and dug up the dirt track so cars can't get through, so hunting in those parts is kaput now.... Unless you're in a jeep, of course! And that's exactly what I was in, so just out of curiosity I drove over those trenches of theirs! ;) But I didn't dive there, just gave myself a little off-road session, so to speak... After that I didn't stop by Mursal's, since time was tight... Got to Gosha Damba, and by half past four I was already in the water... Swam a bit more than 2 hours. The water is way colder than in Shurabad a week ago... Felt like 6-7 degrees... Visibility 1 meter max... At depth, farther from shore, a bit more, about a meter and a half... I was using the short Taimen. Just right, I called it correctly! Saw only 6 mullet. Took the very first one... Then one passed by to my side, I only saw it when it was already leaving: just a tail flashing in the murk... Then on surfacing I saw 2 mullet at once. But they spotted me first and bolted! ;) The next mullet I let get away myself: it was right in front of me, a meter away max... It just happened to be positioned between me and the pipe... I spent a couple of seconds deciding whether to shoot or not, I had a hardened carp tip on the spear and didn't want to risk it... Decided to shoot when it started leaving, moved the gun a little, and it was like it got an electric shock: bammm, and it's gone... Lightning, not a fish... Well, and I also saw the last mullet as it was passing on a head-on course off to my side, on my left... Visibility in that spot was about 1.5 meters by then, I managed to swing my arm under me and shoot after it, and as a result it's on the stringer too... Result of the day - 2 decent mullet, around a kilo each, a little less.
