Dashgil Base

Honestly, on any trip out of town I've always tried to make sure I'm not the one behind the wheel. Pulled it off this time too...... But I don't really feel like travelling like that again. The cargo bed of a GAZelle truck, even with a tarp over it, isn't a very pleasant place to travel; even for short trips. All the dust from the road ends up inside. Good thing my buddy insisted on buying a couple of beers "for the road", special thanks to him for that.
But what's a bit of dust and bouncing around when the goal is fishing! Same route as always: the base near the village of Dashgil that we fell in love with long ago.
We set off early in the morning, the food had been bought and stuffed into bags the evening before. So without wasting any time we race off to meet some awesome relaxation and deep nirvana.)
This time we got dropped off at a different spot, one we'd never been to before. I should mention there were four of us in total, and when we got to the base we decided to split up. Two of them got dropped off at a spot we already knew, and my buddy and I went the other way.
Once we landed, my buddy got busy making grub and I took care of the tackle. We finished almost at the same time. To the table with whatever God sent us! And this time God sent us heated-up canned stew, hunter's sausages, and all that magic with pickled garlic and some vodka! Half an hour later the world started taking on depth and rich colours. Nice!
But... Still no bites, and a check showed no bait-stripping either (which was a relief). Well, if that's how it is, a full belly won't mind a little nap).
Meanwhile the south wind kept getting stronger. About an hour and a half later, on one of the rods, a teeeensy bit of slack. Reeled it in - a little pencil. Got a starry sturgeon!)) Sweeet! Then the same thing again. My pacing around the deck woke up the second passenger of our ark. And off we went, straight to heaven! And how! Every fish we pulled weighed at least 700 grams. And every now and then we got treated to specimens of a kilo and a half! Just a real holiday! Towards evening the bite slowed down and we sat down for some tea. By then we'd already pulled out more than 20 fish. But happiness never lasts long. A guy from the base called and said the owner had arrived and they were moving us.
Every cloud has a silver lining! The next spot turned out to be just as unexplored for us as the previous one. Here, though, it was a lot more convenient and comfortable. Night came and we crashed, tired and happy. The night brought one little pencil. Over the next day we pulled out another five fish.
That's it! This trip counts as a win - we decided, and started packing up. Result: 19kg. Balm for the heart and warmth through the veins).
Whatever else happened, our souls got such a rest that my heart is still singing to this day!
