Space...Space...Floating in zero gravity,alone in the universe....When I was heading out to hunt,and it was around one in the afternoon,I couldn't even imagine what would happen on the hunt today.Let me go off topic a bit.Dead calm,underwater visibility insane(more on that later), gun(pneumatic,then switched to a band gun)water temperature 18 degrees,air also 18.Depth 2-4 meters.Ridges,ridges,a Martian landscape,So many years I've been hunting here,BUT today nature had a surprise ready for me.A surprise is a nice thing,but this was something else.Back to the visibility,which that day was UP TO 10 meters.There were no fish on the ridges themselves,but between them,mullet were grazing like ,,little lambs,,in a pasture.Peacefully lowering their little heads,and moving along the bottom like mowers,putting on fat for the winter.Total idyll,paradise for a spearfisher.....At first I thought so too,spellbound by this underwater space,but the realities of spearfishing quickly cooled my ardor.Along the edge of the school stood ..sentries,, medium-sized mullet that instantly signaled the rest about any movement toward the school.After the signal the school calmly,without hurry swam over to another spot.Yes,yes without hurry because as I already wrote , the visibility was insane,and the fish saw me,and understood that at this distance I couldn't get them.My tactics resembled the meditation of Shaolin monks.One moment I was a rock,the next a clump of grass drifting with the current,then just a swimmer accidentally swimming past and pretending that these fish didn't interest me absolutely.The meditation helped,its victims were 5 hefty fish,that fell for these tricks.And I also got them thanks to the band gun,which I've hunted with only 3 times.With a pneumatic in visibility like that there's nothing to do,especially on a flat area,but among the ridges it's irreplaceable.And I took one more big mullet on a ridge,noticing it by chance out of the corner of my eye.It was literally hovering between two rocks,as if drunk on the sea,didn't pay attention to me,and paid for it,I shot point-blank,almost pressing the spear to its head.On the way home,I kept replaying in my head all the episodes of this tough hunt,despite the dead calm,excellent visibility,the presence of big fish.And I thought,that in nature everything is in harmony,and we should try to learn from it.
