"7 Lakes" in Balakhani and the lake under "Mud Mountain" in Binagadi

So, seeing how inactive things are here on our site, I decided to add at least some fresh news.
Yesterday I decided to do a bit of recon in action and at the same time open my season by dipping my gear in the water. The first place I managed to get to in my Beemer, despite the monstrous road, was the lake out toward Balajary (the lake between Sardarov's factory and the Kirov settlement). A wonderful lake, a haven for rare birds, and now it's a pitiful sight! The local authorities sold off the land and filled in 70% of all those "7 lakes" (that's what we called them as kids). According to a local "Chingachgook", the fish have crowded into what's left of the water. He says they're biting.. crucian carp and whatnot... I myself once caught a crucian there on March 1st a couple of years ago (the little crucian yanked the float under without any ceremony, at a depth of 50 cm... on a worm). It's open ground with a constant breeze, so there aren't that many comfortable spots on the bank... all in all, you can scratch the itch there if need be.

The second recon was to the lake in Binagadi (under Mud Mountain). On arrival (the access roads to the lakes (there are lots of them in different places) can't be called convenient, but still...). The wind ruined the whole thing. There were about 20 people sitting there (there was a pressure front). And surprisingly, almost everyone had palm-sized crucians. They're fishing with worms. There are plenty of comfortable spots. And judging by the stories, there are big ones too. Worth scouting the place out with the option of staying for a full day and night... The scenery there is nothing special, but you'll have to hoof it to a good spot (the wind!) That's it!

Planning to try the lake behind the 3 Crowns. Back in the day (I lived across the way) those lakes made for a pretty decent pastime! The bathtub at home was full of fish.. caught them, kept them! ate them and treated people!
I wonder, did they fill in that "big quarry" ???
I'll be honest... the sea, the sea, the sea... it's still more comfortable after all... or the Shirvan canal... grill some catfish kebab and knock back some vodka!
